Find out about which inflatables can be inspected under the PIPA inspection scheme.
PIPA routine is asked whether an inflatable can be inspected.
Scroll down and find out what inflatables fall under the PIPA inspection scheme, what to do when it is not in the scheme, and if you find an inflatable which is incorrectly tagged.
The PIPA inspection scheme ensures that PIPA inspectors are competent to inspect certain types of inflatable devices. This originally begun with the standard BS EN 14960, and PIPA has since grown its scope to include more inflatables.
You wouldn’t expect an untrained person to complete the MOT of a car. Under HSG175, the Health & Safety Executive puts the onus of ensuring your equipment is safe onto the controller of the device. This means you are responsible for ensuring the person inspecting your equipment is competent to do so.
This is one of the benefits to the PIPA scheme.
You can see what inflatables are currently covered by the PIPA scheme by visiting the scope of the scheme page.
