Do Inflatables Need Testing?
Not having an inflatable Safety Inspection can risk your company in the event of an accident. The current health and safety requirements put the onus onto controllers to self-assure they are complying with health and safety law. There is no licensing or regulation involved with amusement devices.
In the event of an accident, and your equipment has not been appropriately tested, you may find yourself facing a criminal prosecution. Directors and owners of companies, including amusement device companies, have been imprisoned for breaching health and safety law.
To operate in the leisure industry, you must be serious about health and safety to prevent accidents, or negative press about you and your company. So whilst PIPA is not law, it is simply not worth the risk in having an independent inspection by a competent person.
